Virtual Escape Rooms for Distance Learning

Distance learning is hard, so let's take a break. We've developed some virtual escape rooms for you to have fun with and share with your students so they can have some fun. Each activity listed below has a URL link you are more than welcome to do with what you will.

Of course, being escape rooms, they're not quite all fun and games. The puzzles require critical thinking, context clues, word association, understanding cardinal directions, and more! Although lacking in the sensory elements of a true escape room, there's certainly still fun (and learning!) to be had.

This blog will be updated as more activities are added, so keep checking back or follow our Facebook page for more!

Escape the Mummy's Curse

Archaeologists recently discovered the tomb of an ancient pharaoh. Despite the warnings from locals, the team decided to open the tomb and began their excavation. However, since then, everyone who has come into contact with these artifacts has disappeared. It's up to you to find out what happened to them and make sure it doesn't happen to you too.

Enter only if you dare, because if you fail to solve the mystery of the tomb, it's only a matter of time before you too succumb to the mummy's curse.

Escape the Death Star

Luke Skywalker's lightsaber is in Imperial hands! The young Skywalker dropped his lightsaber on his last mission, where it was picked up by Storm Troopers who brought it back to the Death Star. The good news is that Admiral Ackbar has designed a trap to distract Darth Vader with while the rebels retrieve the lightsaber. The bad news is that you - not the clumsy jedi who lost the lightsaber in the first place - are the rebel they assigned to do it.

Escape with the Sorcerer's Stone

The Sorcerer's Stone is in danger! The library has secretly been keeping it hidden and protected for years now, but somehow, word got out about its location and now the Ministry of Magic is afraid it might fall into the wrong hands. It's up to you to find the Sorcerer's Stone first and keep it safe. Of course, it won't be easy, but you can handle it, right?

Once Upon an Escape Room

Yours is a tragic story. You have spent your life locked in the highest room in the tallest tower, but now is your time to escape! You're sick and tired of living a life trapped behind these stone walls, and you are willing to solve any and all puzzles that stand in your way! Which is good, because there will be puzzles aplenty (and maybe a dragon) standing between you and your freedom.

Choose Your Own D&D Adventure

Welcome to the Forgotten Realms...sort of. This virtual mystery is a little bit Choose Your Own Adventure, a little bit Dungeons & Dragons, and a little bit escape room. It is a 3-part adventure that follows you, the adventurer, to the town of Shenigal where you will attempt to solve the mystery of what is plaguing its citizens. Along the way, you will meet characters you may recognize from literature, and you will have the opportunity to guess these characters as they arise. See how many you can guess correctly!

Part I: The Invitation

Part II: Strange Magic

Part III: The Librarian's Favorite Book

Also, if you would like books to pair with any of these escape rooms, ask us! We would be happy to put together a list of themed titles from our publishers for you to add to your library!
